Autumn Shawl

Pattern: modified Winterwork Shawl by Melissa Burke 

Yarn: Cascade Yarn 220 worsted col 2453 pumpkin spice (800m)

I reworked the shawl top-down and changed its shape to be more like a semi-circle. I love the texture of the stitches and the proportions of the shawl are spot on (both are qualities of the original pattern).

In reality I use it more to wrap around me on the sofa than as a proper shawl but I really don't mind: I use it everyday and I love it!

Yarn: Stylecraft DK

Crochet hook 4.5mm

 Chain 105 to start.

I added rows of red bobbles for a pop of colour and extra texture. When I got to the border, the picots from the last round plus the bobbles seemed too much... So I tweaked it by not doing the chain 2 between the 2dc, giving me a flat edge.

I love how it turned out and I'm glad I took the time to work out the edging.
One for E next? He did like this one very much...

Blanket for Camille

Very easy after a few rows and almost no ends to weave in as it can be done as you join a new colour.

I love that blanket and the colours are so beautiful. After playing with my colour pegs for hours (I found that idea on Lucy's blog again... genius!), I asked Mr what he would pick and his first attempt was better than all of mine... thank you P, you saved the day!
